Jesse
  Hello Jesse,
In order to find the solution to your install issues
please see below.

1.
Here is a picture from my website.
The customer installed it following the instructions.
I am showing this because the colors
easily show the contrast between
the bolsters and the inserts.

2.
Here is another picture from my website.
Also customer installed.
I am showing this because it is vinyl with cloth
the same as your kit.

3.
Your Picture:
I wonder why the upholstery looks flat.
When the 1-2-3 foam pads,
rods and center listing strips are installed correctly,
and the top of the bolsters padded...
the center insert should be sucked down
with 'canyons' on the sides over the rods.

4.
Your Picture:
I wonder why the insert strap
(shown by the red star)
appears to be riding on top of the foam.
The listing strip at the base of the headrest
looks to be hog-ringed down properly.

There is a similar listing strip at the base of the logo panel.
(shown by the red star)
When this listing is properly hog-ringed down it will:
a) Suck in the strap just like the base of the headrest.
b) Properly position the center insert
(the wrinkle means the insert is up too high)

5.
Notice how the center listing strips
suck the insert down into the seat
(shown by the red dots)

6.
And again.

Notice how sucked in the insert strap is.

Notice how vertical the rear of the
bottom insert is.
7.
Shown here is how vertical the rear of the
bottom insert is.
(the sides were not sewn on yet, easier to see)

I do not see this sharp angle
(red lines)
in your pictures.
8.
See how the center listing strips
(shown by red lines)
suck down the insert / and the bolsters too.
(shown by the red arrows)
9.
And again.

10.
I do not see the same in the picture you sent.

Not only does the rear most listing strip
NOT look sucked down...
it appears to be rising up
(shown by the red question mark)
11.
This is a leather seat, but it shows well
how the center insert "box"
(also know as the butt panel)
is sucked down on all 4 sides
when properly attached
with 2 center listing strips and
2 side rods.
It also shows the result when the
foam pads 1-2-3 and cotton are
properly installed.
I do not see this in your picture.
12.
In Your Picture:
The video shows to stuff some cotton
into the 'shoulders' of the seat
(shown by the yellow star)
as you would pad the shoulders of a sport coat.

I see sloping shoulders.

13.
Notice the sharp square shoulders
(shown by the yellow stars)
14.
And again.
Jesse,
Based on the pictures you sent
I would start with questioning if the installer followed
the instructions shown in the video and paper update.

15.
Sometimes:
A customer will ask if the bottom rods
are supposed to be bent?

Yes - The rods should be bent to
follow the center insert.

Do not straighten the rods.
