Miata Install
Fixing Speakers

 Back

I was pleased with the quality of the product,
   the quality of the sound,
and the ease of installation of this
Millennium 5 Miata speakers retro-fit kit.

I made this "Frankenstein" radio so that I can
test speakers out of the car.

This Miata seat had speakers in the headrest,
but they were not original, rotten, and need of replacement.

The seat had the three original speaker mounting points.

Notice that the seat foam is marked "R" and "L".
This will help you to remember that when sitting
in the seat you are facing forward...
and the 'left is on your right' ;)

   Mount the speakers.

Be sure to label your speaker wires.
   New speakers installed.

Feed the wires through the front of the seat...
   and out the back.

Put the wires  into the groove in the foam.

Spray some glue over the groove,
this will help duct-tape stick to the foam.

Duct-tape over the wires to hold them in place
  while installing your new upholstery.

 Finally:
  Test that all is well.

   Next: Prepare the Headrests
